Best Eye makeup for brown eyes

A brown eye
I like to use shades of brown, bronze, plum, purple, dark blue and grey to make brown eyes look really gorgeous. Watch mysmoky eyes video for inspiration - you'll see I've used two eyeshadows to get a more intense look, with a cream, metallic eyeshadow and a loose pigment shadow on top. Invest in one or two good eye make-up brushes - they'll make application easier and will make your eye make-up last longer.

Try using shades of plum for a coloured smoky eye. L'Oreal has atrio palette(opens in a new window) called Addictive Plum, including lilac, silvery taupe and plum colours which all complement brown eyes. Or use bronzes - NARS Kalahari Duo Palette(opens in a new window) is beautiful and looks lovely on brown eyes.

If you'd rather keep it really simple, have a look at my purple make-up video. You can use just one colour all over the eye blended into the socket area, teamed up with black eyeliner and mascara - that can really bring your eyes out.

For an everyday look, try a dark navy or green eyeliner on your lash line. I like Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner(opens in a new window) in Cobalt Ink or Ivy Shimmer Ink, to really help brown eyes stand out.

Remember: don't be scared of colour. Buy a palette of eyeshadows so that you can experiment. Sleek Make-Up(opens in a new window) do great sets for £5.99, or for a more upmarket version visit a M.A.C(opens in a new window)store, where you can choose your own eyeshadows to go in a
