Increasing Metabolism

You might be just a little bit overweight or fat or even you are wearing a huge tummy in front of you. When you are finding information about weight loss or losing belly fat or getting a flat stomach, etc., you might have already come across one term many times. It is metabolism. So what is metabolism and what is its connection with losing weight? Metabolism is the processes in the body which burn fat, and other substances into energy to maintain vital functions. The most important thing those who want to lose weight need to understand about metabolism is that muscle tissues uses up more calories to maintain themselves than fat tissues do. Therefore, the metabolism rate depends on the amount of muscles you have compared to the amount of fat.

Now, another question coming up in your mind must be how I can increase my metabolism rate and start burning more calories? If that is what you want to discover, keep reading. I would like to share with you three effective ways to speed up your metabolism.

Eating wisely

First thing about eating is you should divide the amount of food you consume everyday into more smaller meals rather than just only two or three big ones. The ideal number is six. When you are hungry the metabolism does slow down to reduce burning the calories in your body. Therefore, by having small meal in short intervals of time will help to maintain a high level of metabolism. Vitamin B, magnesium and spices also enhance metabolism so it is very good for you to eat food with high content of vitamin B and magnesium like meat, vegetables, whole grains, cauliflower, fish, nuts, pepper and chili, etc. In addition, you should avoid foods that contain lots of calories but little nutrients.

Having enough sleep

It has been proved that an adult needs an average of eight hours sleeping for optimal rest and recovery. When you do not have enough sleep, the stress hormone called cortisol will be produced at a surplus level. That results in lowered metabolism in the body. Moreover, constant lack of sleep will lead to serious stress that can have a negative impact on various body functions, one of which is the metabolic one. It is also highly recommended that you sleep at the right time; it is better to sleep at night than in day time.

Doing exercises

When we do exercises, our body needs more energy and the metabolism increases to break down the fat and calories in order to turn them into energy. The best way to do exercises is combining aerobic exercises with weight training ones. The former will help to lose the overall weight of the body while the later will help to build the muscles in the body. When there are more muscles, the metabolism will definitely be further enhanced.

Of course no ways or methods can help you lose weight overnight; therefore, you need to be well prepared, patient and persistent to get the result. If you follow the three things mentioned above you will be able to find your quick ways to lose body fat.
